Texas Oncology is looking for an Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute
Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) - Medical Oncology to join our team!
This position will support the Webster, Texas location.
TxO - Webster is surrounded by great shopping, excellent
restaurants and coffee shops and is a short drive to the beach. We
are a large, comprehensive team with a collaborative,
patient-centered approach and offer medical oncology, hematology,
radiation, surgery and diagnostic imaging services in our
market.
This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate
experience

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not
limited to)
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians,
involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups
who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care
may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities
may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care,
management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health
care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and
requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance
Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not
limited to)
* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
* Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and
records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as
indicated.
* Performs procedures after appropriate training.
* Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
* Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet
patient and family needs.
* Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research
into clinical practice.
* Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and
documentation requirements.
* Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation
in a timely fashion.
* May provide case management for patients and their families,
given limited knowledge of community resources.
* May promote/provide staff education
* Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and
weekend or after-hour calls.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Advanced Practice Provider position
will have the following background and experience:
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing
school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner
program.
Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3
years of experience.
Level 2 requires a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.
RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of
Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse
Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification
required.
OR
Physician Assistant
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants) certification.
Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of
experience.
Level 2 requires 3 years of experience.
Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.
Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
OR
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing
school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist
program.
Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3
years of experience.
Level 2 requires 3 years of experience.
Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.
RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of
Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical
Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR
certification required.
